Dominique Archie Will Not Receive Sixth Year of Eligibility
Well, Clemson got their bad news this morning, and we got ours in the afternoon. Dominique Archie will not receive an extra year of eligibility due to medical hardship. Per Gamecocks Online:
South Carolina fifth-year senior forward Dominique Archie will not receive a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA. Archie's case did not meet the criteria for granting a sixth year of eligibility established by the NCAA. Archie will graduate from the University in May 2010 with a degree in African-American studies.
It's a shame that we won't get to see Archie take the court again next season, but it's not a surprise. His chances of earning an extra year were slim.
We here at GABA wish Archie luck in his future endeavors. He was a great player for us and will be remembered fondly. I sincerely hope he finds a way to work his way into the league one day.

That is BS from the NCAA
Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel
is just a freight train coming your way.

True, but a pretty common type of BS.
I don’t feel like we’re necessarily getting screwed in comparison to other schools. I do feel sorry for Archie, though. I hope he finds a way into the NBADL or something.

At the very least, he should be able to do the whole foreign league thing like Tre and Powell.

Yeah, I think there's a good chance of that.
