How the SEC East Will Be Won ... By Someone. Eventually | Team Speed Kills
So what you're saying is, it would have been possible to wrap up the East after this weekend if we had beaten Kentucky. Arrrrrrrgh.

Going even further down the road of imagination: Georgia defeats Florida but loses to Auburn. The Gamecocks need to only win one more game to go to Atlanta.

South Carolina Football: Tennessee Preview | Leftover Hot Dog
Let this be a lesson to our offense.

Tennessee defense fun fact: The 1939 Vols were the last college football team to hold their opponents scoreless for an entire regular season.

Exploring a reporter's perspective (Spoiler alert: I'm not a fan) | Spur of the Moment
He means it too. I heard him almost punch somebody through the radio yesterday on 107.5 the game for insinuating that Haney used the word "we" when referring to the Gamecocks.

Seems like the perfect time to explain something about myself, because it's commonly misinterpreted and misconstrued by those I come into contact with. Facts: I cover South Carolina. I attended Tennessee. More facts: I am not a South Carolina fan. I am not a Tennessee fan.

I think some people are so used to crappy reporting that they're confusing competency with fandom.

Spurs Up a minute... Brian Maddox | Spurs Up
Check out Spurs Up getting the scoop on Brian Maddox. Uh, I guess it's a little easier when you work for the USC athletic department... And what's with the Blair Witch treatment? Even Oliver Stone thinks you need to invest in a tri-pod.

By the way, if I had to guess who Brian's favorite Nija Turtle is, I totally would have called Donatello.

Andy Demetra wants you to think about turnovers during the game and not his pronunciation of the word "Sophomore."

A few tickets remain for South Carolina vs. Tennessee | Spurs Up
Only 1,500 tickets remaining. Think we'll sell out?

Vols back won't play vs. Gamecocks | The Augusta Chronicle
Well, this can't be bad for us, right? What's that? Derrick Locke was out for the Kentucky game? Sigh...

Chick-fil-A Bowl to scout Vols-Gamecocks | wbir.com
Meh. Why do Bowls even have scouts? It all comes down to W/L and momentum at the ned of the season. They could do the same thing sitting on their couch. What, exactly, are they looking at, anyway?

So you've got three years to play two and you are thinking about going to a program that can't go to a bowl? Ok...

Grimsley continues to succeed on pitch | The Daily Gamecock
And she's only a junior!

Coming off one of the best offensive seasons in school history, Grimsley hasn't missed a beat in 2010. In 19 games, the Lakeland, Fla., native sports 11 goals, nine assists and 31 points, just one assist short of becoming the first Gamecock to join the 10-10-30 club.

Gamecocks face Gators for SEC championship | The Daily Gamecock
Coach Shelley Smith on Florida:

"I think that shows the two styles," Smith said. "Florida's so dangerous. They have strong athletes, they're always fast, they have great pace; it's hard to contain them. When you play Florida, you know you have to score a couple goals to have a chance to win."

SWIMMING & DIVING

Gamecocks to Host Clemson for the Final Time | Gamecocks Online
Clemson is getting rid of its Swimming & Diving program. Guess they need the money to help them beat UNC on a regular basis (in football, we all know that all-time record in basketball is going nowhere fast).

South Carolina's biggest rivalry in swimming & diving will be renewed for the penultimate time on Friday as the Clemson Tigers visit the newly-renovated Blatt P.E. Center/Carolina Natatorium for a 5 p.m. dual meet.

With Clemson announcing that the university would be phasing out its swimming & diving program, it will be the final time for the Tigers to compete against the Gamecocks in Columbia; Carolina will travel to Clemson next year to close out the series that dates back to 1923.
