Hoopspowerpoll2009logoa_medium

1. Kentucky Wildcats

The 'Cats survived Florida to go 18-0 on the year at home.

2. Vanderbilt Commodores

Vandy still maintains this spot over Tennessee by virtue of their better overall record and 2-0 head-to-head against the Vols. Their performance against South Carolina, though, was not exactly awe-inspiring.

3. Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols are one of the country's hottest teams right now. Will this finally be the year that they make a run in the postseason?

4. Florida Gators

The Gators would have sure liked to have gotten that victory in Rupp to bolster their tourney resume. They need to win one or two in the SEC Tournament to feel safe.

5. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

The Bulldogs will likely need to impress in the SEC Tournament to get consideration for an NCAAs bid.

6. Mississippi Rebels

Once left for dead, the Rebels remain in the running for a tournament bid after their torrid play down the stretch.

7. Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks are still here by default. They've really been struggling lately, though.

8. Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide seems to be rising as of late.

9. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Gamecocks ended the regular season on a high note with a victory at Vandy. Their season, though, has to be considered a disappointment considering where they once were.

10. Auburn Tigers

Jeff Lebo's only hope now is a run in the SEC Tournament.

11. Georgia Bulldogs

The Dawgs made great strides this year under Mark Fox, but their season-ending loss to woeful LSU illustrated how far they still have to go.

12. LSU Tigers

The Tigers didn't turn out to be QUITE as bad as we once thought. Still pretty awful, though.
