Hoopspowerpoll2009logoa_medium
Here are this week's poll results. There was good bit of movement in the middle, as Arkansas moves down while South Carolina and Alabama move up.

This will be the last week of polling, as your esteemed voters plan to let the tournaments sort things out from here. Stay tuned post-season, though, for our All-SEC selections.

1. Kentucky Wildcats 144 (unanimous)

2. Vanderbilt Commodores 131

3. Tennessee Volunteers 121

4. Florida Gators 104

5. Mississippi Rebels 93

6. Mississippi St. Bulldogs 91

7. South Carolina Gamecocks 60

8. Alabama Crimson Tide 55

9. Arkansas Razorbacks 52

10. Georgia Bulldogs 43

11. Auburn Tigers 30

12. LSU Tigers 12

Alabama

The team has learned how to close games out the last week of the season. Should be an interesting rematch with South Carolina.--Alabama Basketball Blog

They defeated South Carolina a week ago. Why can't they do it again at the SEC Tournament?--Alligator Army

Arkansas

Five straight losses to end the regular season.  This was the Razorback team we have been expecting to see all season.--A Bulldog in Exile

Five game slide to end the season, ending any ridiculous bubble speculation. Must win tourney.--Anchor of Gold

Auburn

The powers that be at Auburn have to be aware of what Grant is capable of in Tuscaloosa. They must make a change now.--Alabama Basketball Blog

I asked the magic 8 ball if Jeff Lebo could escape for one more season. Terse reply: "Yes". I'll believe it when I see it.  <http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~ssanty/cgi-bin/eightball.cgi>--Save the Shield

Florida

Would be the ultimate NCAA backdoor case if they can lose their last three and still make the tournament.--Rocky Top Talk

Florida never quite managed to overcome the hurdles between them and the top in the East. I guess the "Tebow Effect" is now over for all Gators.--VolNation Blog

Georgia

LSU?  REALY!?!--A Bulldog in Exile

Super-bad loss to the Tigers, but it was on the road.  Turnovers killed the Dawgs in this one.--A Sea of Blue

Kentucky

My favorite was when Calipari said people talking about UK missing 3's was the same as people saying '08 Memphis couldn't shoot FTs, and neither would matter in March.  That worked out well last time.--Rocky Top Talk

The 'Cats are the best in the SEC.  Not much else to say.--Leftover Hot Dog

LSU

Tough defense.  Tougher season.--A Bulldog in Exile

Mercifully just one more loss remains this season.--Save the Shield

Mississippi St.

You're supposed to play your way IN to the NCAA tournament...--Anchor of Gold

On the bubble in a serious way.  Rick Stansbury has to be hoping his magic cowbell has a little gri-gri left in it.--VolNation Blog

Ole Miss

No team from the SEC West should make the tournament.  If you go 0-24 against the East's tourney teams, you don't deserve it.--Rocky Top Talk

Get the nod over Florida due to the stronger finish.--Anchor of Gold

South Carolina

Can make some noise in the CBI...if they get in.--A Bulldog in Exile

Great win against Vandy, but the NIT is the best they can hope for barring a suprise.--A Sea of Blue

Tennessee

The Vols and their headbands are playing strong entering March.--Leftover Hot Dog

Bruce Pearl should be coach of the year. Period.--Alabama Basketball Blog

Vanderbilt

Was losing to South Carolina at home a sign of bigger concerns? They did need OT to be Georgia at home, too.--Alligator Army

The bad: Not an encouraging way to end the best SEC season under Kevin Stallings. The good: They've had solid results when forced to refocus.--Anchor of Gold
