The pinch hit was a stupid move.

Ray Tanner wanted a better “match-up.” Consequently Bucknell made a pitching change. Bangs, who hasn’t been hitting well the last few weeks, then took strike three for the final out of the inning. We may be winning right now, but I’m still fuming.

The only benefit was that the Bucknell coach was equally stupid

and pulled his pitcher for someone with a giant ERA, thus getting us deeper into their bullpen. I doubt Ray Tanner planned on that scenario. Even if he did, it was still a stupid move.

I can see the logic, but the best matchup is leaving one of your hottest players (Marzili) in there. Bangs has been awful lately, even if he's good for a clutch hit from time to time.

The good news is that we’re getting deep into Bucknell’s shaky bullpen. Hopefully we can rally in the last two innings.

Yep. Morales gave us some insurance.

But our performance earlier in the game was very reminiscent of last week. We’ve been getting runners on base, but we haven’t been bringing them around. And fielding has been bad.

I want to see more Marzili. I hope he’s starting again tomorrow.
