Thursday News and Notes: Conference Expansion Possibly Even Closer and More

New, 1 comment

Hiya, folks. The news today is EXPANSIONOCALYPSE IS UPON US. Well, perhaps not quite, but things are certainly heating up in lieu of Chip Brown's reports that Nebraska to the Big 10 is a done deal and that the death of the Big XII is imminent. I'm not going to restate everything I've read here today, and will instead direct you to some relevant sources.

Sources: All signs point to Nebraska to Big Ten - ESPN. A source close to the Nebraska program told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that athletic director Tom Osborne informed athletic staff members within the past 24 hours that the Cornhuskers were going to make the move to the Big Ten conference.

As the Conference Expansion World Turns - Team Speed Kills. A recap of the day's expansion news. TSK continues to be the place to go for SEC fans interested in expansion. You can also find more links here.

Another headliner today has been reported ticketing misconduct by Coastal Carolina University. Here are some relevant headlines. If you want to see more, I'd suggest going to some of the message boards, where things are beginning to heat up for the renewal of this "rivalry."

Some other non-expansion, non-Coastal news:

Price earns Freshman All-America honors | GoGamecocks. Congrats, Matt. I'm looking forward to seeing this guy in starting role next year. Before that, though, I'd like to see him finish off a few more games for us.
