SEC Power Poll Ballot: Week Two
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide looked good in a commanding win over Penn St.
2. South Carolina Gamecocks
The Gamecocks announced their intention to compete for the SEC East with a commanding victory over Georgia.
3. LSU Tigers
LSU bounced back from a shaky win over UNC with a dominant road win over Vanderbilt.
4. Florida Gators
The Gators looked shaky in the first half, but in the second half started to show signs that maybe all isn't lost in Gainesville.
5. Auburn Tigers
Auburn picked up a solid road victory over an emerging Mississippi St. team.
6. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Hogs started very slowly against ULM, but they eventually got it in gear and cruised to a victory. Early returns on the defense are positive, but we've yet to see them tested.
7. Georgia Bulldogs
It's back to the drawing board for the Dawgs, who are hoping they'll get A.J. Green back for a big showdown with Arkansas.
8. Kentucky Wildcats
The 'Cats' offense looked astounding against Western Kentucky, but their defense and special teams will need major work if this team is to do more than whip around cupcakes.
9. Mississippi St. Bulldogs
The Western Dawgs gave Auburn a tough game, but they fell short of the upset. I still think this is a team on the rise.
10. Tennessee Volunteers
The Vols looked about like you would expect against Oregon--lost and confused, particularly in the second half.
11. Vanderbilt Commodores
Vandy got whipped by LSU. Not looking good in Nashville right now.
12. Mississippi Rebels
Why was Ole Miss playing on the road against Tulane? At any rate, they didn't exactly dominate, but at least they didn't lose again.

Im still scared to rate us #2
I love the Cocks but Im not sold were powe #2 even at this stage … Garcia’s play was too uneven and only 1 passing TD (by our backup) gives me a little pause.
Here is my power ranking:
1. Bama. King of the Hill.
2. Florida - that offense will improve. The defense is beyond nasty.
T3. Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, USC, UK - ready for a seat at the grown-up’s table. Who will get the nod?
T8. UGA, MSU - temporarily in loser’s bracket. One thing is certain - they won’t be lonely long.
T10. Ole Miss. UT. Vandy. Go ahead. Write them off - if you dare.

I find it quite funny
that it is the SOUTH CAROLINA fans who are not ranking Carolina as high as they are. Usually the nation as a whole is disrespectful to us and were the optimistic fans, now that were looking legit its reversed.

Emphasis on "looking"
This isnt the first time we’ve beaten UGA … or gotten off to a great start … or had a great freshman star. I’m just as happy as you are, trust me … Im just keeping perspective.
In any event, this is the first time I think we are clearly one of the top 4 teams in the SEC.

You ask:
Why was Ole Miss playing on the road against Tulane?
Simply because it’s a 95% chance of a win, close by, and a fun place for the fans to visit. Over the past three seasons, Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU have all played Tulane in the Superdome for those exact same reasons.

Can you imagine the Columbia Chamber squawking
if Carolina gave up a home game so our fans could have a nice trip?
