SEC Power Poll Ballot: Week Eight

Powerpoll2010logo_medium

1. Auburn Tigers

Auburn now controls its destiny in the national title race, and its QB is the clear favorite for the Heisman.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

After a slow start, the Tide dominated the second half against Tennessee.

3. LSU Tigers

Les's luck ran out on the plains yesterday afternoon. Is a second-half collapse imminent?

4. Arkansas Razorbacks

It was more of the same for the Hogs in a shootout win over Ole Miss--plenty of offensive fireworks from Ryan Mallett and company, plenty of defensive snafus from the Arkansas defense.

5. South Carolina Gamecocks

South Carolina bounced back from the loss to Kentucky with a slow but more or less convincing win against Vandy. The 'Cocks will be happy to get Marcus Lattimore back next week, which will hopefully jump start the offense.

6. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

Mississippi St. struggled to beat UAB but got to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2007.

7. Georgia Bulldogs

UGA got to .500 with a fairly convincing win at Kentucky. Perhaps the hottest team in the conference right now outside of Auburn.

8. Florida Gators

The Gators took a week off to try to figure out their offense and get ready for a huge game with Georgia.

9. Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky's Eastern Division Championship aspirations likely died with the loss to Georgia.

10. Mississippi Rebels

Ole Miss showed some signs of life on offense against Arkansas, but it's defense continued to struggle.

11. Tennessee Volunteers

It was more of the same from the Vols: good first half, completely inept second half. The talent just isn't there for much better right now.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores

Vandy hung tough with South Carolina in the first half, but it's offense couldn't get anything going in the second.
