Monday News and Notes: Rankings Update and More

Greetings, Gamecocks fans. It's Monday, and the latest baseball rankings are out. As expected, the 'Cocks dropped a bit in each poll. Rivals and Collegiate Baseball have us at seventhUSA Today / ESPN at ninth, and Baseball America at tenth. We actually rose to 13th in the RPI. All of this suggests to me that we probably need a solid performance in Hoover to get that national seed.

Gamecocks Finish First in SEC East. The SEC released the regular season attendance totals for all teams on Sunday. South Carolina was first in attendance in the East and fourth overall drawing 221,219 fans, an average of 6,703 per game.
