A couple of quick news cites:

Gamecocks Rout The Citadel Again. Is there a most-improved player award in college baseball? If so, it should go to Scott Wingo, who after being a horrible hitter a year ago has become one of the conference's best. Wingo had another good game last night in Charleston, hitting two HRs. The Gamecocks would win 10-3 to complete a season sweep against the Bulldogs.

Carolina takes on Ole Miss this weekend in Columbia.

K. J. Brent Commits to Carolina. Brent is a tall receiver with good hands out of North Carolina. He had offers from a range of middle-tier programs, the most notable of which are Arkansas, Wisconsin and West Virginia. You can check out some of Brent's highlights here. I'll have to say that he looks pretty good in this video, although it's always hard to know what to make of these reels. It will be interesting to see how he stacks up when the ratings come out.
