SEC Power Poll Ballot: February 14-20
1. Kentucky Wildcats
No changes here. The 'Cats keep rolling.
2. Vanderbilt Commodores
Vandy escaped LSU's upset bid and remains within striking distance of the 'Cats in the conference standings.
3. Tennessee Volunteers
The Vols had a rough week, losing to Kentucky and Vandy. Still the third best team in my opinion, though.
4. Florida Gators
That the Gators are fourth should tell you a lot about this conference. There's a decided drop-off after the first three teams. This team still has some work to do to get in the tourney.
5. Mississippi St. Bulldogs
The Bulldogs had a good week, strengthening their tourney resume with wins over rival Ole Miss and Auburn.
6. Mississippi Rebels
The Rebels remain in the NCAAs conversation, but they need wins down the stretch.
7. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Hogs' winning streak ended after they gave up a large lead to 'Bama. Can they bounce back and stay in the race for the West? They're still technically on top, believe it or not. Their NCAAs chances are pretty slim, though, due to their poor OOC performance.
8. South Carolina Gamecocks
The Gamecocks are still a dangerous team, as the Florida win indicates. However, the Georgia loss probably put them off the bubble barring a huge late-season surge, and that looks unlikely for a team that is thin on depth and plays much worse on the road than at home.
9. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide have a decent shot at the NIT, but they need to start winning more.
10. Georgia Bulldogs
The Dawgs picked up a nice win against the Gamecocks. If they can put it together down the stretch, the NIT isn't out of the question.
11. Auburn Tigers
Nice upset bid against MSU, but it looks like time is running out for Jeff Lebo.
12. LSU Tigers
Still winless in conference.
