I'm now back from my trip out of town, and there's a lot to catch up on. Unfortunately, I don't have time to get to it all right now, so let's just take a quick look at the new baseball rankings and then I'll leave you for the time being. The Gamecocks are looking good nationally after a perfect week, with Rivals placing us at seventh, USA Today / ESPN at eighth, Baseball America at seventh, and Collegiate Baseball at third. The theme here is that we continue to rise while other teams are struggling. Around the SEC, it's notable that Arkansas and Florida are sharing space with us in the Top 10. Those will be big time series when they roll around.

A couple of other baseball-related tidbits:

Jackie Bradley, Jr. Invited to USA Baseball Collegiate Team Trials.

T. Kyle King provides thoughtful--if clearly frustrated--commentary on the UGA-USC series.

I'll be back tonight or tomorrow with some thoughts on this past weekend's NFL draft. Four Gamecocks were signed over the weekend, with Eric Norwood going in the fourth round, Clifton Geathers in the sixth, and Darian Stewart and Lemuel Jeanpierre being picked up as UDFAs. We'll want to talk about each one's prospects.
